Dead on Demand is written by Sean and Daniel Campbell and is very different from the normal thriller story. The main character is Edwin Murphy but he has a supporting cast of many. Inspector David Morton is the man who is responsible for figuring it all out. Edwin has a perfect life until everything falls apart. He is losing his wife, his daughter and his job, and can think of only one solution to get himself out of the mess: murder his wife.
Dead on Demand is the story of a no-hands-on killer. Edwin has planned the perfect murder, and he hires someone else to kill his wife. Once his wife has been killed, he decides the only thing left is to kill the killer. He hires another person on a non-traceable web site to do just that. The circle just keeps getting bigger as more and more killings become necessary. Inspector Morton of the London police is given each of the cases to solve and, while he can find nothing to link them, he isn’t convinced they aren’t related.
Dead on Demand, while confusing from time to time with a lot of characters to keep track of, is a really good book. The authors have written a well thought out story with strong character description and a detailed plot. All three hundred and fifty one pages will keep you engrossed and perched anxiously on the edge of your seat. The question is: who will get caught? Who will get away with murder? It will take until the very last pages to get the answer. It was enjoyable to read something so very different, suspenseful, and clever. I highly recommend this book.
