Deadly Daughter is the third installment of the Masterson Files by Andrew Allen Smith. This novel is filled with suspense, thrills, and action that is both intriguing and mesmerizing. When Abby Tarkington comes home one day, she finds the house she shares with her boyfriend, Jonathon Michael Masterson, empty. The two, however, are not just your ordinary couple. Abby is the daughter of a general of a covert group that handles the state's so-called “problems,” and Michael is one of the deadliest members of the group. Realizing that Michael's life is in danger, Abby quickly organizes a special team of experts to track down and rescue him, and the dangerous adventure begins.
Andrew Allen Smith's Deadly Daughter unravels with an action-packed chapter that foreshadows the succeeding chapters of the novel. And it surely does not disappoint the reader as page after page of Abby's efforts to find Michael will surely keep them glued to their chairs. When Michael disappears, Abby Tarkington's past training comes into play and she is certainly not the general's daughter for naught. Author Andrew Allen Smith weaves together an intricate plot about a clandestine world that is as dangerous as it is fascinating. Dialogue-driven and fast-paced, the story introduces his readers to an otherwise secret world where trust and loyalty mean life or death. And in the end, Deadly Daughter actually comes across as a love story, a very unusual love story, and this makes the main protagonists relatable to readers!
