I'm JZ Murdock, a writer and filmmaker drawn to stories that explore the dark edges of human nature, consciousness, and the unknown. I’ve worked in psychology, technology, and the arts, and all of these experiences feed into my storytelling. I’ve always been fascinated by how trauma, belief, and truth intersect—and Death of Heaven was born out of that obsession.
The novel was inspired by a thought I couldn’t shake: What if the darkest aspects of humanity weren’t a flaw, but a design? That question drove me to create a story that starts with a childhood trauma between two friends and expands into something far more cosmic and terrifying. It’s a philosophical horror novel wrapped in sci-fi and existential dread, told through multiple stories that ultimately collide.
My goal was to craft something disturbing, intelligent, and layered—something that challenges readers to question reality, morality, and even the origins of good and evil. It’s horror not just for the sake of fear, but for the sake of awakening.
I’m honored when readers say it reminds them of Lovecraft or classic cosmic horror with a modern twist—because that’s the space I love to write in. Thanks for giving it a chance.
