Princess Roselynn is on the run. Growing up without a mother, she relied mostly on her father. However, her father died recently, and now the Kingdom of Tover rests on her shoulders. She knows she still has a lot to learn, but that's not why she's running away. Once she marries King Darius of Marcsnovia, the two kingdoms will unite and be more powerful together. She also hopes that somehow, married life will keep her grief at bay. Everything is going according to plan until she learns that her uncle, King Abrax, is plotting to kill her and take over the throne. She then devises a plan to escape and head to Marcsnovia as soon as she can to ask for Darius's help. Will the princess be able to survive Eternity Forest - a place filled with darkness and peril - on her way to King Darius's arms? In Cece Louise's Desperate Forest, she shows us Roselynn's adventure through the forest, complete with all the people she met and the challenges she faced.
I liked Desperate Forest a lot because the story was engaging and fast-paced. This is a wonderful book. Only a few pages into the story and I was already immersed in the world the author had created. It's also feminist as all the female characters were as important and as strong as the male ones. I also liked the fact that in the end, what really solved the problem was women helping each other out. This book surprised me in a good way and I loved all the twists and turns. The author is such a great storyteller so if you like romantic adventures, you shouldn't miss Desperate Forest by Cece Louise. This is Book 1 in the Forest Tales Series.
