Thomas was scared because he was going to see the doctor. He took Mr. Piggy, his favorite stuffed toy, along with him. Doctor Sam's office was in the city and there were a lot of buildings there. As Thomas was going along, he saw store windows full of toys and candies and he forgot that he was going to see Dr. Sam. He saw a pet shop with cute little kittens in the window and by the time Thomas reached Dr. Sam's office, he was relaxed. The lady at the front desk said Dr. Sam always had surprises for good boys and girls. Doctor Sam looked inside Thomas' ears and listened to his heart. Thomas had fun putting on what he thought were earphones and listening to his heart. As they were leaving, the receptionist gave Thomas a coupon to go to the ice cream stand across the street for being a good boy.
