Earth's Last Starship: A First Contact Technothriller by Daniel Peyton is an absorbing read that features a challenging mission, a fierce and powerful antagonist, and some humorous moments. The fourth ship to survive an unprecedented wormhole system mishap, USS Orlando’s crew led by Captain Brian Shepard hopes to find and rescue the human scientist who can unlock the mystery of the loss of the other missing fleets. In the process of finding Dr. Fisher, an alien joins the crew of the fourth starship. Meanwhile, the extensive Tol'konian Empire hopes to capture the USS Orlando and ultimately conquer earth. The crew is the last remaining team that can find answers to the missing fleets, stop the powerful empire, and save mankind from possible extinction.
Daniel Peyton develops an exhilarating plot in Earth's Last Starship. The crew of the USS Orlando is faced with multiple challenging missions. From evading the enemy, finding Dr. Fisher, unlocking the secrets of the wormhole project, to saving earth, they hope to achieve all these before the Tol'konians stop them. The characters are compelling and determined. Despite the difficulty of their missions, they are willing to place their lives on the line to save humankind. A captivating romance involving Fang, the alien, and a crew member is added to the plot. It is explored through humorous dialogue and descriptions between the characters. The light-hearted moments also temper the riveting bits of the plot. Earth's Last Starship by Daniel Peyton is a thrilling read with creative dialogue and many suspenseful scenes.
