It had been three years of daring missions for Onsan Vorga as an agent of Skaperen the Creator, and now he was ready to step aside from his duties and look after his pregnant wife, with whom he lived in the Trannsa-Eaglais Citadel. However, the news of the kidnapping of Abbsnate Etak, a close friend, disrupts his plans. According to intel from Onsan’s colleagues, Abbsnate has been captured by Piktkas, a nemesis presumed dead, and intends to use her as bait to lure Commander Brell and Onsan into a trap. It turns out Piktkas not only works for Bedrager, a disgraced former agent of Skaperen, but his plot is just a small part of Bedrager’s diabolical grand scheme. As Onsan and his colleagues embark on a rescue mission, they must fight a power that reaches into their minds, confront their personal demons, and race against time to save Abbsnate from her impending fate. Do they have what it takes to pull this off? Find out in Fantassociation: A Galactic Passages Chronicle by Dean Vargo.
Lovers of sci-fi novels blended with adventure, action, a touch of fantasy, suspense, and plot twists will find Fantassociation by Dean Vargo an enthralling read. With fascinating characters, Vargo hurls readers into a cosmic saga that is both complex and vast. Every character seemed to be facing a high-stakes dilemma where every choice demanded a significant sacrifice. The colorful images accompanying the narrative gave me insight into the advanced technology used and the cosmic setting. The plot moves at a dynamic pace, making room for moments of reflection, tension, and bursts of action that blur the lines between reality and imagination, giving the prose a surreal quality. One moment, I was watching Onsan work his way around the pitfalls Bedrager had designed for Skaperen’s agents, or Abbsnate fighting for her sanity and autonomy at the hands of her callous captors. The next thing I knew, I would be following them both as they experienced disturbing dreams, visions, and trances. While this is a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading the preceding instalments to fully enjoy it.
