Finders Keepers by J.J. DiBenedetto introduces readers in an unforgettable way to The Jane Barnaby Adventures, a series that seems very promising. Jane Barnaby receives the simple assignment to transport her archaeology professor’s tool box and car from Oxfordshire to an archaeological site in Spain, a distance of 1,400 miles. It would have been an easy task except for the fact that Jane picks up the wrong box and it just happens that it contains a coveted treasure, one that people will kill to lay their hands on. The box she carries contains artifacts from Ancient Egypt and this makes Jane a target. This breathtaking story presents nonstop action that will entertain readers immensely as they watch Jane and her companions — fake or real — racing against time and distance, fleeing from enemies they cannot name.
A brilliant plot, out-of-the-box and utterly engaging characters, and heart-stopping suspense are elements that make this story a fun read. I love Egypt and everything about its history and tradition, but it wasn’t the idea of Egyptian artifacts that gripped my attention so much. It was this urge to know what would happen to the artifacts, in whose hands would they be found at the end of the story, and how the archaeology professor would react when he discovers the wrong item has been picked up. But there is so much action for the reader to speculate upon. J.J. DiBenedetto knows just how to build up the tension in readers. He’ll have you enthralled, turning the pages, and plagued with the desire to find out what will happen to the lovely protagonist. The writing is polished and beautiful. Finders Keepers is the book that will excite and entertain readers beyond measure. Highly recommended!
