In Finding Home by Roxanne Snopek, Samara Davis is a grieving mother and widow returning to the one place she truly felt at home, Marietta Montana. Determined to give her autistic daughter, Jade, a happy and secure home she's not too pleased to discover that the restored house she was expecting to move into is nowhere near ready. She gets an even bigger surprise when she discovers that the contractor in charge of the restoration is none other than Logan Stafford, a high school boyfriend. A sweet and caring man who never forgot the lonely girl from the wrong side of the tracks. Instantly falling in love again, Logan is determined to prove to Sam that he can be the calm in her chaotic whirlwind of a life. He's determined to show how much they can count on him, but when an unexpected crisis with Jade sends Sam in a tailspin, he soon learns that mere determination may not be enough.
Finding Home by Roxanne Snopek is the start of a series of sweet romantic novellas. It's a quick read that immerses the reader in a certain brand of small town coziness. I had trouble warming up to Samara at first, despite understanding her circumstances, but I appreciated her flawed character and I loved how sweet and understanding Logan was, especially when it came to Jade, Sam's mildly autistic daughter. Despite Sam's background and insecurities, Snopek does a great job of getting her to open up and the moments between her and Logan are super sweet. A straight forward romance that's sure to leave any fan feeling warm and fuzzy.
