It is a wild ride from the start with tons of quirky personalities interacting, all while Phillip and Genevieve are still trying to navigate the waters of their new world. Tana L.H. Boerger paints a picture of Phillip and Genevieve’s life that clearly expresses the changes in their new life and how they are coping with the changes. I really enjoyed the way the story unfolded, learning about Freddie and Angelina’s relationship offers a nice hint of extra drama while trying to figure out who did it. The plot is woven with dry humor that keeps the story entertaining in spite of the darker topics of the main storyline. The story is well-written and very entertaining until the very end.

Fortune’s Final Frenzy is the fourth and final story in the series featuring Philip and Genevieve Warwick. Author Tana L. H. Boerger takes us back to the couple who inherited the title and estate of the House of Crosswick on the death of Philip’s older brother. Once again, they find themselves embroiled in murder when they host a weekend shooting party. The death of the first wife of a close friend is unexplained as Lord and Lady Crosswick jet off on a skiing holiday in the Austrian Alps. As passionate patrons of the arts, they are hoping to persuade their hosts to invest in a new art museum in Berlin. Misfortune follows them as more bodies pile up, and more questions remain unanswered. A storm blows in, trapping everyone inside the Austrian schloss, and information suggests there are stolen paintings from a Canadian art heist hidden within the walls. The tension ramps up as people wonder who will die next, and a ghost from Genevieve’s past sends warnings of danger as the story builds to a climax.

Fortune’s Final Frenzy by Tana L. H. Boerger can be read as a standalone, and the author includes a list of characters at the end of the book, which I found very helpful. I would describe this as a cozy mystery with the added interest of Charlotte, the House of Crosswick ghost. Even after years of marriage, Philip and Genevieve are passionately in love, and it is fun to read accounts of their upper-class lifestyle of private jets and country living, a real Downton Abbey scenario. Several characters could have committed the murders, so the reader is kept guessing until the end of the book. The action never lets up, and for those who enjoy a good murder mystery set in exotic locations, this is a book they will enjoy.
