Authorities in Sapphire City are on high alert. There is a vigilante in town that seems to use bizarre methods like soil and trees to trap criminals. But the authorities are not the only ones whose attention the vigilante has caught. A head of a criminal empire is as eager as the police to find out who this mysterious vigilante is. Her activities were costing him business. So far, Gael has helped police put away some mid-level criminals, but she has a much bigger target in mind. Her actions are not completely selfless. She has a personal stake in the game - a long overdue vendetta. As much as the police are happy for the help, they are also eager to know who their mysterious helper is and take her off the streets. Gael's ultimate target is a man with a lot of power and friends in all the right places, including the local PD, the mayor, the Russian mafia, the local gangs etc. In a chase between the cops, a vigilante, and a criminal mastermind, who will come out on top?

Gael, by Thomas J. Black, is a fast-paced and thrilling read with a unique and captivating plot. A vigilante with a personal vendetta, a cop with superb tracking skills, and a ruthless criminal mastermind - all the perfect makings of a thrilling crime story. The characters at the center of the story are fresh and compelling and will lure you into their chase. Giving each of the main characters their own voice in the book made the story more personal for each of them, bringing out their personas even more. Thomas J. Black put together an amazing read that fans of crime stories with a twist will definitely love.
