Geribo, The Shelter Cat by Claire Eckard is an adorable children's book about a cat named Geribo. Unfortunately for Geribo, he lives at an animal shelter and hasn't found his forever home yet but he desperately wishes to find one. Geribo often feels sad because he looks a little different from the other cats, and feels as if this is the reason behind no one wanting to adopt him. Geribo's luck soon changes as he is chosen to travel to other cities, where more people will get the chance to meet him and, hopefully, adopt him. Will Geribo find his forever home? Find out in this third installment of The Geribo Series!

Geribo, The Shelter Cat is the perfect story for teaching children about the importance of loving and caring for any pet they may have. This book contains many lessons for children to pick up on and learn. It proves that there is someone for everyone, no matter how insecure you may be. Whether you are an animal or a human being, there is always going to be someone who will love and appreciate you for who you are; you never have to change! This brilliant book by author Claire Eckard also teaches about how you can help out with the growing increase of homeless animals in your area with questions at the very end of the book. I found this to be extremely beneficial, especially for the younger generation. I loved Geribo's story and the beautiful illustrations by Erin Amavisca. Claire Eckard has created the perfect book for children. I hope to read the next book as I am excited to see where Geribo's journey takes him.
