Have you ever picked up a book, but weren't expecting anything great? Maybe it was in a genre you liked, but the author wasn't anyone you had heard about. You just wanted to try someone and something new…and then you were blown away by it! That is exactly what happened to me when I read Girl Within Girl by S.P. Aruna. This book is awesome. I don’t want to give away any spoilers because part of the beauty of Girl Within Girl is in the deft way S.P. Aruna unfolds the story. This is the first book of a series. It is called Unraveling and that is exactly what happens. A life and a super-secret CIA project unravel before our eyes. It is fascinating to watch and I can’t wait to see Katrina, one of our main protagonists, come together, so to speak, and turn the tables on the bad guys.
Girl Within Girl involves a character, a young woman, with multiple personality disorder. Written poorly, this situation would come across as unbelievable. Under the superb pen of S.P. Aruna we are delivered a masterpiece. Not since Robert Ludlum’s Jason Bourne has such a superb story of a spy who has lost his or her memory been written. Every character, whether good or bad, is realistically portrayed. Every scenario is totally believable. Girl Within Girl resonated deeply within me because I had a girlfriend once with this syndrome. It is real and it can be a heart-breaking nightmare. You will want to get in on the ground floor of this exciting new series. Trust me on that.
