In Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, Candace Colt continues Rhea Tanner and C'tloc’s incredible adventure across the galaxy. Although they meet under mysterious circumstances, the couple forms a strong bond forged through the sacrifices they make for one another. Rhea has drained the magic from her amethyst pendant to help C’tloc find his way home, jeopardizing her chance to return to Earth and reunite with her family. Unfortunately, C’tloc’s alien family and the Akerlon community are not quick to accept her and her feline companion, Alika, because they are not of their kind. However, when Rhea shows kindness and support during a crisis threatening C'tloc's home, she earns their respect and demonstrates that love can transcend species and cultural differences. C'tloc finds himself at the forefront of his species' battle, filling Rhea with fear of losing him forever and the prospect of being stuck with a group of aliens who may never fully embrace her.
Guess Who's Coming to Dinner is a captivating story that explores themes of family, second chances, and space adventures. Although Rhea Tanner and C’tloc’s relationship may be unconventional, their love and devotion to each other are undeniable. I enjoyed discovering C’tloc’s alien culture alongside Rhea and Alika. Their astonishment at the differences between human and alien customs, as well as the challenges they face while integrating into C'tloc's world, make the narrative thought-provoking and engaging. Adjusting to a new life in any environment can be daunting, but it often leads to unexpected adventures, newfound knowledge, and personal growth. This story emphasizes taking a leap of faith and embracing the unknown. It also highlights bravery and the importance of fighting for those you love, as shown through Rhea's poignant story about her father and C'tloc's decision to join the battle for his home. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who loves space travel novels infused with family drama and a love that transcends boundaries.
