Hamish the Hedgehog, the Kitchen Critter by P.J. Tierney is a fun and interactive picture book for children. One day while out picking berries, a hedgehog named Hamish smells something delicious, unlike anything, he's ever smelled before. Hamish follows the smell and wanders up to a house. He peers through the window to see some mouth-watering breakfast foods laid out on a table. Distracted by the scrumptious food, Hamish forgets his basket and leaves it on a tree stump. The following day, Hamish returns for his basket and is surprised by what is now inside it. What is inside Hamish's basket? Do you think it is something yummy?
Hamish the Hedgehog, the Kitchen Critter was an enjoyable read. Children are going to love this wonderful book. Hamish is a lovable character and has been perfectly illustrated by the talented Aishwarya Vohra. What I liked most about the book is that it not only tells a story but also includes multiple recipes that children can make easily. This adds even more fun when reading as children will feel as if they are part of the book themselves. It may even inspire them to become a chef one day. The writing has been professionally written and reads smoothly. It will make the perfect book to read on a rainy day or as a boredom buster. Congrats on the book, P.J. Tierney and Aishwarya Vohra; you work well together.
