The phenomenon of Circadian Rhythm is not understood by most people. It is the natural, 24-hour body’s clock, regulating all the body’s organ clocks. By learning how to harness all the natural energies within our physical bodies, everyone can become healthier, more energetic, and productive. In the nonfictional work, Have a Peak at This: Synergize Your Body's Clock Towards a Highly Productive You, written by Said Hasyim, a thorough explanation is given. Beginning with a description of the Circadian Rhythm, the reader understands the science of this natural aspect of the body. Practical to-do’s and not to do’s are spelled out, providing a realistic program to improve bodily functions and health.

The author outlines how to reset the Circadian Rhythm by consistent sleeping, eating, and exercising routines. A chapter is dedicated to each of these three areas to provide a full understanding of how each one is essential to resetting body clocks. Each area is complete with research, presented in an easy-to-read, logical format. Graphs and charts add to the reader’s comprehension of the material. For many, the concept of time-restricted eating may be the most unfamiliar concept; however, the detailed information is easy to comprehend. The last chapter, named Optimal Routine, puts all the facts together, outlining a realistic schedule from morning through bedtime. Author Said Hasyim has penned an all-encompassing book in Have a Peak at This. It is a must-read for anyone who wants to learn about Circadian Rhythm – and how to best utilize it to live healthier and happier lives.

He teaches you what exercises are good and why they work and what they do for you. Said Hasyim also discusses diet and what you can do to gain muscle and lose fat and why that helps with your body clock. He also gives you ideas on how to fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer and how many hours of actual sleep you need.

I thought that Have a Peak at This by Said Hasyim was a fascinating read. I loved that at the beginning of the book he said to check with a professional before trying anything new; that was refreshing. I loved how he explained why having your circadian rhythm in sync is beneficial and what happens when it is not in sync. I had a major aha moment thanks to this. I appreciated the notes that Said Hasyim made to help clarify a word, as some of those words were a bit difficult. I loved that this is a real person’s diet, not a starve or berate yourself type diet, and for someone like me who is trying to gain weight, this also works. The graphics he uses made it easier to process some of the numbers too, which I appreciated. I thought the exercise chapter was fascinating. If you are trying to find a way to not be so sluggish during the day or have any health issues, then this is a must-read book; it is a real eye-opener.

Have a Peak at This: Synergize Your Body’s Clock Towards a Highly Productive You by Said Hasyim is a non-fiction self-help book with the goal to introduce the world to Circadian Rhythm and the transformative power it has in our lives. Spread out over five distinct chapters, Hasyim breaks down the vast differences in energy, efficiency, and quality of life between those who are in tune with their rhythm and those who are not. A full accounting is given to provide readers with the most optimal likelihood of success through an intensive look at the Circadian Clock, mastering not just sleep or a sleep schedule, but also achieving the right state of slumber and rest, exercise, diet, and a perfect routine.

I admit that Have a Peak at This is the first time I'd ever heard of Circadian Rhythm, and I suspect this will be the case for many who have the opportunity to come across it. Said Hasyim clearly understands this and does a really great job at guiding a reader in the right direction without making us feel like we're a lost cause. The tone is friendly and encouraging, even comforting to a certain extent, particularly as real-life examples are used to form a connection. The most interesting to me was the section on fixing our sleep environments. It had never occurred to me how some of the tiniest changes could have such a profound impact on the quality of sleep. A dark cool room, humidity, a bath, even a pair of socks...small things to implement for big improvements. I think this is an excellent source for those who are looking for positive and dynamic change and I will absolutely be giving Hasyim's methods a try.
