In Hidden Riches by Felicia Mason, three siblings come to a Southern town to lay to rest their older sister Ana Mae Futrell. Marguerite, "Delcine," is a seemingly wealthy sister who long ago outgrew the confines of the small town in which she grew up. Josephine, "JoJo," is married to a loser and she has had to give up her dreams of making it big time as a dancer in Las Vegas. Only the youngest sibling, Clayton, has made it big as a physician. But, he's gay and has horrible memories of his childhood in small town North Carolina. The sisters long for an inheritance while Clayton simply wants to lay his sister to rest. But, in order to bring closure to the life of Ana Mae, the three siblings must solve the mystery of nine blocks on a quilt handmade by Ana Mae. Whoever solves the story of the quilt is due to inherit an unexpectedly large amount of money.

As the siblings go about trying to solve the quilt's mystery stories, they gradually learn about Ana Mae Futrell. The inheritance motivates them but they also become engrossed in the life of their older sister. Each sibling has a unique personality which is well-developed by author Mason. Hidden Riches is a lovely story which will touch the hearts of readers who have yearnings to better understand their past in order to move ahead in their own lives. As the siblings search for the secrets of the quilt, they discover an even deeper secret which will forever change the way they view themselves and their family. The novel is an easy read and one which will bring smiles to the faces of its readers.
