Hide and Seek Alphabet With American Animals by Anna Finch is an entertaining educational picture book. This simple story uses short words and easy-to-read sentences. Using phrases like “A is for Amy the American Kestrel,” the story links each letter with an animal's name. Stunning imagery from the talented Andreea Balcan plays a role in the hide-and-seek aspect of the book. Each animal is hidden somewhere on the page, and children are then asked to try to find them, turning traveling through the alphabet into part of an exciting game. The book features a variety of North American animals. From the adorable illustrations to the creative writing style, this book gives parents a satisfying and interactive way to introduce children to nature using the alphabet.
