Horses of History From Before to Beyond is the first of three books that Anna B. Joachim dedicates to the splendid animals that have been of help and companionship to us humans through the centuries. In this book, the reader will follow the evolution of horses through the millennia, starting with their first appearance in the Eocene Epoch. Joachim also analyzes the representation and the importance that horses have had in mythology and religions. In addition, the reader will delve into their contribution to the history of ancient Greece and Rome, wars, sport, and much more.
Horses of History From Before to Beyond is an amazing and informative book. Although I was already a lover of horses, I now know them much better and appreciate them even more, thanks to Anna B. Joachim. I had never wondered what the evolution of horses had been over the millennia, but now, I realized it was something worth knowing. I was impressed when I discovered how mustangs got to America when other horses that had lived there were extinct. Also, as a history enthusiast, I really enjoyed the chapter Joachim dedicated to some of the most famous horses of the past. I hope to have the opportunity to read the other books in this fabulous series and learn more facts about these fascinating animals. In the meantime, I recommend reading Horses of History From Before to Beyond to anyone who loves these beautiful animals and wants to know more about them.
