I Am She Positive Affirmations Coloring Book for Black & Brown Girls by Kitty Arceneaux is an engaging affirmation-filled coloring book for girls of practically any age, and adult girls can take advantage of it, as well. Personally, I think this coloring book is awesome, exciting, and high-energy. It feels highly therapeutic. It is a creation in which all the pages can be colored. The title affirmation is presented in such a way it becomes a chanted declaration and reinforces what a girl wants to be or whatever she needs to feel like on any given day or at any given moment. Plus, from one appearance to the next, its colors can easily be varied and unique like the owner herself.
What I enjoyed the most is that no girl is limited to being any one girl in this book. The opening page allows the owner to personalize the book and from there to color page after page in whatever colors work for her mood and temperament. Designed for young girls of color, the pages feature a wide array of hairstyles and outfits, all accompanied by declarations that make a girl feel accomplished, smart, and genuinely self-appreciated. I imagine Kitty Arceneaux’s I Am She: Positive Affirmations Coloring Book for Black & Brown Girls as the kind of keeper that, when all its pages are colored, the owner can open it at random on any given day and find just the right image and words to remind her of the beautiful and powerful person that she truly is. Thank you, Kitty Arceneaux, for such a wonderful positive image-building coloring book.
