If you’re looking for an educational resource book that your children can enjoy, share, and read over and over again, then pick up a copy of any of Carole P. Roman’s educational children's books. If You Were Me and Lived in... Brazil: A Child's Introduction to Cultures Around the World by Carole P. Roman is Volume 17 of the If You Were Me and Lived in… series. In this book, children will learn about the history, culture and the foods that makes Brazil so special. Your child will feel as if they've actually traveled to Brazil as they learn about the various aspects of this interesting country. In this book they will learn about the markets, the game Cinco Marias, the samba, and about the toucan, along with other insects, plants, fish, birds and animals that live in the Amazon rain forest.
I love these beautifully illustrated children’s book that Carole creates. The books allow a child to be taken on an adventure into another culture that they may otherwise never experience. As your child sees through the eyes of the children in the book, they will come away from the experience with a diverse and comprehensive education on Brazil. Carole not only provides the basics about Brazil, but touches upon the language of the country, Portuguese, which is not only spoken in Brazil but Portugal as well. To enhance and enrich the learning experience for young readers, there is a glossary that is special to Brazil which your child can refer to over and over again.
