Norway: A Child’s Introduction to Cultures Around the World by Carole P. Roman. Norway is known as the Land of the Midnight Sun because during parts of the year, the sun never sets and shines all day and all night. The author educates children about Norway, its people, language, culture, food, sights, and sounds through this book. The book also encourages children to discover new lands and helps them develop an interest in traveling to distant lands.
The book is informative and the use of colorful illustrations makes it vivid and easy to connect with. It is a good way to introduce children to new places and what makes these places different from the country where they are living. The author does this in a fun and interactive manner which will appeal to young readers. The pronunciation guide at the end of the book is useful when it comes to knowing exactly how the words are pronounced. I like the author’s idea of bringing out a series like this. What an excellent way to introduce children to new lands and diverse cultures! For all those who love traveling, this series has a lot to offer and makes it easy for parents, teachers, and educators to teach children about other countries in an entertaining way.
