When Bradie Carpenter met Grant Blain it seemed that love sizzled right then and there. Only problem was that Bradie came from the poor side of town while Grant, being an only child was raised as the old saying goes with a silver spoon in his mouth. When Grant gave up all his riches to move in with Bradie they didn’t have much, a run down trailer and bills to pay, but they had love--Something his parents could not understand. To them Bradie was only a way to get money. When Grant is unexpectedly killed on the 4th of July in a car accident, Bradie learns she is pregnant. Although Grant's parents would not believe it was their grandson, and still look to her as a gold digger. Would they ever come around and realize this is the only grandchild they will ever have?

Bradie is looking to have a better life for her and her son. Moving to another town she secures a better job with more money and insurance. This venture is the best for her and her son Blain. Working for the Packards and a small guest house to rent, she has become almost like one of the family. Now with the 4th of July upon them again, Bradie and her son are invited to the Packards for a dinner and celebration. With all of the family there she meets Andrew ”Amen” Packard, the youngest son. Seems he looks familiar, then she learns he is the firefighter that had to get Grant out of his wrecked car.

Can Bradie learn to let go of Grant? Can anything come of a relationship with Amen or will it be the same as with Grants parents? Will they think she is just out to get money from another wealthy family? Can Bradie learn that to some people money does not out weigh love? With Bradie not getting close to another after losing Grant, Amen is not letting another woman close to his heart after a divorce from his first wife. Will they both allow their past hurts heal their lives and let them become a family together. You can’t help but fall in love with the main characters, Bradie and Amen. They seem to be just right for each other.

This is a well written romantic story. There are a couple of parts that are a little sensual but not to the point of being spicy, so if you are looking for a romance that has a lot of substance and not just romance then I recommend picking up a copy of Intimate Flames.
