Is This All There Is? Living a Life Beyond Obligation by Monique Verpoort is an empowering self-help book for women struggling with self-esteem and self-worth. We are conditioned to put everyone else above us. Such immense pressure not only damages your self-esteem but also hurts your mind and body. Monique Verpoort is a certified EFT practitioner and believes it is high time that we learn to put ourselves first because we are just as important. Divided into four parts, the author shares that it is important for us to change our minds and start our healing journey.
Is This All There Is? is the most relatable and empowering book I have read in a while. Monique Verpoort has a way with words, and she uses them wisely. The first few chapters hit me hard. How often do we put ourselves down and believe we are not worth it? We always look for reasons why our needs are unimportant or that a loved one needs something more. It can be attention, or it could be something material. We habitually put ourselves down and second-guess everything we desire. Monique shares real-life stories of women just like us and makes the reader feel like they are not alone. I never knew what EFT is and how it can help manage stress and ease your mind. The narrative style is simple, educational, and very friendly. It is like meeting an old friend after a long time and getting your worries off your chest. The exercises and strategies in the book are easy to follow and practice. I enjoyed myself as I felt inspired to let go of my obligations just enough to breathe and be myself. I will highly recommend this to every woman!
