Sara Wang simply wants to get on with her life as a college instructor in a new town in Jade Orchid Lovers by Mei Silk. Moving back to where she had grown up after a nasty divorce, Sara returns to the pool at the Y where she had spent so much time as a teen and had developed into a championship swimmer. Surprisingly attracted to the lifeguard, Sara fights her natural desire because she is not ready for a new relationship. Yet, there is something so comforting and familiar about this man; and he is also drop dead gorgeous. Mateo is more than a lifeguard. He is a successful real estate agent and has taken over the Y to keep it from closing, making it more profitable than it had been in years. He is also strangely attracted to the new member swimming effortlessly lap after lap, reminding him of someone he knew long ago as a boy learning to swim.

The attraction between Sara and Mateo is too strong to overcome and the flames they kindle spark a firestorm of activity as Sara’s unbalanced ex-husband comes from Oregon and tries to take control of her life. Just as Sara accepts her need for Mateo, will it all be taken away?

An enduring love is something that not many people get to experience. Mei Silk tenderly explores this lucky coincidence between Sara and Mateo in Jade Orchid Lovers, demonstrating tremendous depth of emotion and genuine caring between the characters. The touches of culture make it interesting and the 'mystery' of Bill added excitement. Well written with informative cultural references and evocative descriptions, Jade Orchid Lovers is a heartwarming story sure to please any contemporary romance reader. Thoroughly enjoyable!
