Joy Of Being: Daily Moments of Becoming Present by Kristin Larsen is a mix of self-help and a journal that aims to help readers to be more present in each moment and to find joy in the smaller things. The book also shows people that hardships and failures are a normal part of life, and if you learn to change your attitude toward them, you will open up a new way of thinking and living. The author takes readers on an inner journey and nudges them onto a path of more happiness and joy. For this, readers are introduced to a variety of concepts and shown which steps they need to take to be more present and live in the now. The book also provides readers with plenty of space to reflect on what they have learned.
Joy Of Being by Kristin Larsen is divided into multiple sections, and includes a large amount of journaling prompts, like 'What habits do I enjoy?' In the daily journal section, readers answer questions about their intention for the day and are asked to check in during the day to keep an eye on their progress for 120 days. I found that some of the questions might sometimes not apply, or perhaps you might not have an answer to them on a particular day. For example, I'd find it hard to find an answer to the question "What made all the difference to me today?" because there often wasn't anything that applied (which probably tells me that this might be one of my issues). Working with this journal can teach you quite a bit about your life if you stick to it, and decide to answer everything honestly. I liked the design, and there was plenty of space to write down my answers.
