Julie Andrews' Treasury for All Seasons - Poems and Songs to Celebrate the Year is a beautiful collection of poems and lyrics gathered by Julie herself, and her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton. The book is divided by seasons with an introduction to each season written by Julie, sharing her memories of the season spent with her own children and grandchildren. Works from poets such as Myra Cohn Livingston, John Updike, Emily Dickinson, and Walt Whitman, along with songs written by legendary song writers such as Oscar and William Hammerstein and Cole Porter will delight and engage your children throughout the year. There are also special sections for the Sabbath, Birthdays, New Babies, and Coming of Age.
Julie Andrews' Treasury for All Seasons is a gorgeous book filled with poetry and fun, vibrant illustrations. The personal letters from Julie at the beginning of each section are heartwarming and full of insight as to why she and her daughter, Emma, chose certain selections for that season. There are also touching titles such as 'Martin Luther King Day', 'Mama-A Rainbow', 'If', and 'Flags' written by Julie Andrews herself. The opening letters give us a glimpse into the life and motherhood of an icon. Treasury for All Seasons is just that, a treasure. It is a keepsake collection to be kept ready and available to pick up and read aloud often, best with children of all ages.
