In Keepers of Water, Arieana’s brother, Rydan, has been tricked and murdered by Ricor and his renegade in the human world. Despite her brother’s warning and the Council’s order, she breaks the law and crosses the Veil into the human realm to bring back her brother's soul as well as avenge his death. The Council and the fanatics are at war with each other regarding the human world. Together with Dr. Sorein Jacobs, Arieana must find the clue that will lead them to the relics to save both humanity and her own world. This epic fantasy tale is written by R.G. Porter.
The lesson of the story is as plain as day; we need to take better care of our world. R.G. Porter has created a parallel universe that is in conflict about whether to wait for humans to learn and make up for their mistakes or to destroy them all before it is too late. The plot is an interesting way to analyze the environmental problems in our world today. Keepers of Water has a strong message which will definitely leave some impact on readers; the plot is truly excellent.
All in all, this is a flawless and classic fantasy novel. Its pacing is good and characterization is perfect. I absolutely love Arieana, a strong female lead that is ideal and flawed at the same time, and I adored little Brooke. I highly recommend this entertaining and thought-provoking first installment of the Guardians of Nature series.
