“Those dreams evaporated so slowly that they went unnoticed.” In the novel King's Blade by Dennis Collins, many things vanish, with trust being at the top of the list. The story kicks off quickly when James King, a former CIA operative turned semi-private assassin, is assigned a mission to kill a man. However, something feels off about the assignment, and James—nicknamed Blade for his skill with knives—senses that something is wrong. With the help of a former teammate, Mickey, Blade soon discovers that he has been set up, and he is the real target. The pressing questions are why this is happening and who is behind it. In an unlikely alliance with his intended target, Blade and his allies engage in a deadly game of cat and mouse, where both hunters and the hunted become mere pawns.

Action-packed, tense, and infused with a touch of mystery, King's Blade by Dennis Collins is a thriller centered around an intriguing conspiracy. The plot primarily follows an assassin who eventually finds himself being hunted without understanding why. If that were not enough, he also tries to uncover a possible mole within his organization. Powerful themes of loneliness, trust, and betrayal enhance the story's emotional impact and foster deeper immersion. The character development introduces unique individuals who, despite their rough exteriors, are essentially good people trying to do the right thing. The novel's fast-paced narrative begins quickly and intensifies, creating an engaging and swift read. For fans of action and intrigue, or adrenaline junkies in general, King's Blade truly delivers.
