Leading Change From Within: A Road Map to Help Middle Managers Affect Lasting Change by Brian Strobel is, as the title suggests, about change and how change is constant in one's life and how everyone is changing from the moment we are born. The term 'change' is overused nowadays, but the author tells us to use it effectively and shows readers how it can make a difference at work places and while interacting with colleagues. The book covers topics relating to effective leadership, is a good road map for managers, and explains how to handle people who prefer to indulge in politics at the office.
There is a lot to learn from the book and it is helpful in changing oneself. I found the author's words inspirational and motivational as well. The book takes you through an exciting journey of discovering more about ourselves, and inspiring, coaching and mentoring others. I liked the author's approach to the topics covered in the book. He makes everything so simple and it's easy for readers to comprehend and put into practice. The small diagrams give clarity to the author's ideas and concepts. The book helps give readers a new perspective on change from various angles as the author discusses it extensively and expansively.
The book will make readers reflect and work towards bringing about positive changes within themselves, the places they work, and in their thinking process. The book finally reiterates the point that instead of changing the world, we should change ourselves.
