Lessons From My Twenties by Marquita Bradley is the author’s journey through her twenties told in the form of twenty lessons. Marquita relates the challenges and experiences she had, including relationships, faith, and the loss of a loved one. She looks at the importance of friends and family, and her beliefs and her Christian faith, and how they all played a part in her becoming the person she is today. There are again lessons she has learned about people and whether they are true friends or, as she says, ‘just for a season’. She examines her God-given gifts and tells of the ways she felt these helped her on her journey.

This is a book that examines an individual’s purpose and destiny, told with an open heart and a sense of humour. Marquita has turned her own story into something that will help, inspire and encourage others who wonder where they are in their lives, and what their purpose is. Marquita’s faith shines through in her writing; and the importance it plays in her life is apparent throughout all the exciting times and the challenging times. What was clear to me as I read was her love of life and her love of God, and her desire to be all the things she was capable of being to herself and to others. It is a book that is a joy to read and an encouragement during difficult times. No-one has to face the stormy days alone and this book is a testimony to that.
