Everyone will face loss and grief. Death is part of life and comes knocking at every family’s door. If the Grim Reaper has affected you, you will want to read this book. In Light Beyond the Veil, Ann Zachariah, M.D., shares her journey through grief after the death of her beloved father. She was close to her dad, who had shown her unconditional love and acceptance. If your loved one has endured a long illness, you may think you are ready for the inevitable; however, as Ann reminds us, you are never completely ready to say goodbye. Ann shares the steps of grief and reminds her readers that everyone grieves in their own way. It is important to feel each stage, which can be easier when you have a true friend to confide in. You will be glad you enlisted Ann as your guide through the unbelievable pain of the death of a loved one.
When it comes to grieving, Ann Zachariah, M.D., has been there, done that. In Light Beyond the Veil, she writes as a compassionate guide who will help you navigate the intricacies of grieving. Even though Ann is a person of science, grief has helped her understand that there is also a spiritual component to life and after. While her situation might not be just like yours, grief has a kinship with others. Your grief might be different, but the feeling of grief is universal. Each chapter begins with a poem and a line drawing. Somehow, times of grief and struggles seem to draw the poet out of each of us. Reading this book will help you see how Ann turned grieving and depression into gratefulness and an ability to focus on the good times. After working with grieving people for over forty years, I can highly recommend this book to all who are facing grief.
