Lily Lizard the Frog by Cara McNulty is about a little tadpole who is born in a big pond all by herself. She searches and searches for a family of her own but there is no one around. The little tadpole doesn’t give up and continues to search in the hope of finding a home. She has big dreams and plans for her future and is determined to keep going on her quest. When the little tadpole decides to rest near a rock, she comes across a lizard who may make all her dreams come true.
Lily Lizard the Frog by Cara McNulty is a sweet story about a little tadpole who finds herself all alone in the world, but she soon finds a home with a lizard who has been wishing for a child. This adorable story touches on themes of love and hope and teaches you that family doesn’t necessarily have to be those who are related to you. I think this story would be a wonderful lesson to young children, especially those in foster homes, as it will show them that somewhere out there someone is wishing to have a child just as much as they are wishing for a family. The beautiful and colorful illustrations done by Liliia Ivolha just add to the soft tone of this story and contribute to the atmosphere. Overall, I think this is such a wonderful children’s book and would recommend it for young children.
