Little Economists: Volume 1 by Kelly Lee is a fantastic introduction to personal finance for children of all ages. Kelly broaches complex financial concepts and makes them easy to understand. Various young animals live in a city where parents teach their children the importance of properly handling money. The five areas introduced are what is money, credit card usage, budgeting, supply and demand, and inflation. If I'd had this book when my children were young, it would have made teaching them how to handle personal finances responsibly much easier. This book also includes fun activities for parents to do with kids to reinforce the new ideas and concepts they are learning. One of the most important concepts is the difference between wants and needs, which many adults still have not learned. Give your child a head start in life by teaching them about finances at an early age.

Little Economists: Volume 1 by Kelly Lee should be required reading for all children between the ages of three and seven. Human financial habits are fixed by the age of seven, so if you wait until your child is a pre-teen or a teen, it will be very difficult to change their way of handling money. This easy-to-read book uses illustrations of cute animals to teach the concepts and children will love reading it with their parents. Read this book to and with your child and then do the activities at the end of each chapter. When you see your child excel in handling money while making wise purchasing decisions, you will be extremely glad you invested in this book. I think every school should include personal finance in their curriculum and this book would suit the second or third grade. I was a money coach for over thirty years and would love to have given this book to the children of the adults who came to learn how to handle their finances.
