The stars eagerly anticipated the birth of a king. The star who shined brightest that day would receive a special award. Little Star was sad. He was tiny and had no star dust. How could he ever win an award without dust?

The stars were disappointed when the child was born. How could he be a king, born in a stable? The big stars did not understand but Little Star did. The king’s message was one of love, love for everyone. Little Star was so filled with joy that he tried to touch the baby. The harder he tried the brighter he burned.

Little Star is a delightful story. I was enchanted by the plot. The illustrations are a bit nostalgic and beautifully done. They work well with the text. The plot captures the true meaning behind Christmas.

Reading Little Star by DeStanfano is sure to become a family Christmas tradition.
