Lore: East and Eight by Chad T. Douglas is a young adult fantasy story that follows Thomas Crowe and Molly Bishop's adventure and feud with a mermaid sorceress. Tom has a stolen talisman that the Atlantean sorceress Oi’alli wants and trouble brews when he refuses to give it up. When the sorceress unleashes "The Eight" immortal hunters against Tom to retrieve the talisman, it is all Tom can do to keep himself alive. But luckily he has Molly as his companion on this adventure. The two journey toward Romania in search of answers. To keep Tom alive, Molly must master her new found strength and growing magical powers. But is it enough to defeat the sorceress and her hunters? Can Tom keep the talisman safe from falling into the hands of evil?
Readers will love the setting and characters of this fantasy story, especially the fantastical elements like demons, vampires, and mermaids. Readers will appreciate the many aspects of this story that cross genres, including romance, mystery, and adventure. This story takes the reader on a magical journey and dives deep into a descriptive, magical world that readers will love.
