Brent Hopkins has so much on his plate and he wants a better life for his parents and his invalid brother, which means he needs more money. But his accounting work isn’t enough, so at night he becomes a male stripper. And everything changes when a fan suddenly pulls him off the stage. He finds himself at the rehabilitation center because of the injuries he sustains. While at the rehabilitation center he begins to get unusual gifts and wonders if everything is what it seems. A strong attraction begins to build between Brent and his female physical therapist, the same woman who had stayed and taken care of him until he got the help he needed. As their attraction grows stronger, a stalker surfaces in the game. And this stalker can bring their relationship to ruin. But who is it?
Love With a Side of Crazy by Tina Susedik is a suspenseful romance bolstered by a complex and psychologically intriguing protagonist and a fascinating mystery. The story starts in the midst of a crisis — the protagonist getting himself into a life-threatening situation, and then Marie is there. We meet them right at the beginning of the story in an encounter that raises many questions in the minds of readers. Tina Susedik builds relationships and explores background stories that add flesh to her characters without distracting readers from what is essential in the plot. For instance, the relationship between Marie and Link, the man who raised them after the death of their father, fuels the internal conflict and helps define the personality of the character. There are emotional moments and they begin from the very first page. The psychological depth of the characters is captured in the deft use of stream of consciousness. Love With a Side of Crazy will keep any keen reader guessing, wondering what could happen next and what will become of the characters they care about at the end of the story.
