Love's Lies and Other Deceptions by Mukesh Chhajer is a collection of poems revolving around the theme of love. Love has been a favorite topic among artists, writers, and poets and a lot has been said and written about the subject. The collection here is the poet's interpretation of the subject. His perspective on the subject is deep and thought provoking, revealing to readers the emotions related to love. The poems are evocative and they tell us how we all strive to achieve love in our lives.
The poems stand out in their brevity and elegance. The author's minimalist approach in writing adds to the impact of his ideas and feelings. The narrator's thoughts on the topic vary from poem to poem, giving readers an expansive view on the subject. Every poem is an honest attempt to capture the essence of love. It is always difficult to write about love without sounding cliched; mainly because it is a common and repetitive theme among poets. The author has a way with words that does not make readers feel that they are reading about an oft-repeated theme.
