Author Biography

Chef Elizabeth Lee’s passions lovingly revolve around culinary arts and the ocean. A Canadian, Lee was born and raised in Nova Scotia and professionally trained in culinary arts on the Pacific Coast in British Columbia, Canada. Chef Elizabeth graduated with honors and a Culinary Arts degree from the University of Okanagan in Kelowna, British Columbia. Chef Elizabeth is a renowned chef within the industry, winning various chef competitions in the Caribbean and abroad, including Concours de Chef, Best Chef of the Year, BVI, Turkey, and third place in the Antigua Chef Competition. Together, Chef Lee and her husband have logged 250,000 miles traveling the world on yachts to destinations in North America, the Caribbean, Transatlantic, Mediterranean, and the Near East. Chef Lee’s direct access to the culture and gastronomy from around the world has influenced her food in a myriad of ways, all of which have been infused into the recipes showcased in this book. Chef Lee believes in the evolving science of gastronomy and specializes in avant-garde, sous vide, molecular gastronomy, nouvelle, Pacific Rim, and fusion cuisines.

Made With Love: Culinary Inspirations From Around the World by Elizabeth Lee is a fascinating book for all food lovers. This professional yacht chef provides readers with mouthwatering, delicious recipes that have been developed keeping in mind they can be made in the smallest of spaces, be it in a yacht kitchen, apartment, or home. Lee also shares the basic culinary components she has readily available in her kitchen or freezer so that readers know what can come in handy while making the simplest of dishes. There are cooking techniques and ingredients shared and Lee recommends using fresh ingredients so the final product is excellent.

The cooking technique Sous Vide is introduced to readers, and there the recipes of Sous Vide dishes to try out. Made With Love has 5 sections, Salads, Appetizers, Soups, Entrees, and Desserts, and is a real treat for all those who love to try out new recipes. The book is made captivating with not only pictures of the dishes but also beautiful photographs by Elizabeth Lee's husband, Warren East. The book has everything to pull in readers so that they are motivated and encouraged to try new recipes. The cuisine is aesthetic, imaginative, and creative, and showcases the caliber of the author. All the dishes are original with a lot of attention given to the spices, herbs, and greens used in cooking. Some of the individual recipes are such that they can be mixed with each other to come up with a unique new dish.
