Memoir Star: Start Telling Your Life Story by Erika Karres, Ed.D. and Susan Bowman, Ed.S., LPC, is a book filled with stories shared by the authors and space for the reader to write his or her own stories as well. Divided into eight steps, this book will help the reader write his or her own life story. The main portion of this book is step three which is answering prompts about one’s life. A variety of questions are in this section and, after answering them, the next step is to organize and compile them into one’s memoir. Erika and Susan share their stories alongside the questions and inspire others to do the same; share their memories and preserve their life story for generations to come.
Memoir Star will help every reader to create his or her own memoir. This is an interesting book as it is filled with a variety of prompts geared to help one share his or her story. Preserving one’s story is so important for future generations, as it is a way to share memories and stories amongst children, parents, and grandchildren. The authors do a fabulous job with sharing their stories and they will inspire each reader to begin jotting down remembrances and begin sharing their own stories. For anyone whom wants to tell his or her life story, this book is a must-have!
