From her suspense filled thriller “Senseless” Mary Burton takes the reader on another suspenseful ride in the second book “Merciless”.

Prostitutes go missing all the time, but, unless they are found dead no one pays much attention to their disappearance. Some boys make a gruesome discovery in the park. A pile of bones expertly laid out, stripped of all flesh, bleached white, and one bone missing. The bones were identified as the remains of a local actress who has been missing for 10 days. She was a patient of Dr. Dillon Dixon and a client of defense attorney, Angie Carlson. Another set of bones are found later in the week. They are linked to Dr. Dixon, Angie Carlson and Darius Cross. Leads take them to a similar killing that happened 30 years earlier. The plot thickens as we now find Angie the target of a psychopathic killer.

I suggest reading this series in order. There are flashbacks in “Merciless” to the first book “Senseless.” Ms. Burton is a talented author. Her style takes the reader on a thrilling journey. The plot kept me guessing right to the very end. Suspense readers will not want to miss this book.
