Robert Valle’s charming Christmas read, Miss Brown's Christmas, involves a beautiful romance with a mysterious twist. While working at the New York Public Library, Emily meets Tim, a shy man and like Emily, a newcomer to the city. After a painful breakup, Emily left everything behind to start anew. Though she could travel back home for Christmas, distressing memories kept her away from Pennsylvania. She still remembered and missed her hometown’s magical Christmas seasons. Tim had come to New York after accepting a great job offer. Since meeting Emily at the library, he had been intrigued by her but had been too shy to learn more about her. This Christmas, both had planned to celebrate the season alone but an unexpected invite changes their plans and grants them a wonderful miracle.

A story of hope, surprises, and new beginnings, Miss Brown's Christmas is a heart-warming and uplifting holiday story that celebrates the meaning of the Christmas season. I loved the beautiful images included in the book and its lovely characters. Together with the atmospheric descriptions of New York scenes during Christmas, they create a magical backdrop for the story. I also loved the kind Mr. Niels and enjoyed the story’s optimistic ending. The tale explores other important themes such as reconciliation, love, and forgiveness which are especially relevant to the holiday season. A wonderful read that beautifully captures the spirit of Christmas, Robert Valle has provided a splendid holiday-themed romance that readers will love.

Miss Brown’s Christmas by Robert A. Valle invites us to spend Christmas in New York. Emily Brown, a librarian with a degree, came there looking to mend her broken heart as her ex-boyfriend Dan had left her just before the previous Christmas. To compound her unhappiness, her father disapproved of her, adding to her inner conflict. Emily managed to find a job at the New York Public Library, a famous and historical institution. With Christmas approaching, she finds herself alone in the big city. A frequent visitor to the library named Tim has an air of kindness about him. Emily hopes for a new friendship and they experience wonderful encounters while snow covers the city in anticipation of Christmas.

Miss Brown’s Christmas is an excellent holiday gift for those who love short books and enjoy romances with a touch of the supernatural. This amazing novella, the second installment in a series, will give you a warm feeling, just like the mulled wine that one of the characters, the mysterious Niels, served to Emily and Tim. Robert A. Valle avoids sugarcoating the Christmas turmoil, for in reality the city is big and cold and the crowds can be impersonal. The common theme of the story is kindness, and I appreciated it so much as the author shows that there is always hope for those who feel lonely and vulnerable. It was great to learn the new and interesting facts about Christmas that Valle added to the story. I loved the smooth narrative and simple yet engaging writing style. The final twist to this beautiful story turned out to be fascinating and unexpected.

Miss Brown’s Christmas is a novella by Robert Valle. Emily Brown expected her boyfriend to ask her to marry him. However, he breaks up with her, and Emily's father blames her for the breakup. She moves to New York, hoping to make a fresh start. Emily is lonely in New York and Christmas is approaching. Because the relationship between Emily and her father broke down after the breakup, she does not want to go home. Tim Barrett is an only child and after the death of his parents, he is alone. Tim is offered a job he cannot turn down and he moves to New York. Tim has no friends there so he visits the library. They recognized the opportunity that was put in their path and reacted to it. Their emotions were portrayed in their character interactions and conversations as they overcame their shyness and loneliness. The story was well written, and the ends were tied beautifully together. It is a comfortable read and the outcome was appropriate.
