This awesome childrens chapter is very interesting and action packed with five friend going on a treasure hunt on a special island. The five friends each have an individual part of the hunt and their own treasures but must work as a team to succeed. Entertaining, fast paced and full of surprises. Enjoy it today. This is a wonderful book that has a very good lesson in teamwork and also facing your fears. Molly and her friends have a fantastic adventure on the island and they all came away with a special treasure. I loved the way they worked together on each portion of the map and the clues until they solved it. The friends also showed a lot of compassion for the farmers and their families. A sweet yet powerful story!

I looked this book over to see if my nephew would enjoy it, and I can already tell he definitely will. Molly and her friends have a fantastic adventure on the island, and what stood out most to me was how they supported each other every step of the way. The story is charming, adventurous, and written in a way that really draws kids in. It has just the right balance of fun and heart, and I love how it encourages imagination while slipping in gentle lessons along the way. The whole series is wonderful, and I’m excited to read this one with him next—I know he’ll be hooked on Molly’s adventures from the very first page.

A fun-filled book with deep twists and turns.

What a splendid adventure! Molly and her friends embark on a hunt on a deserted island to find treasure, to help raise money for a fair back at the castle. Except the island is not quite so deserted, and the group of friends come face to face with different creatures, battle with bad weather and attempt to resolve their difficulties along the way- all while trying to make it back in time for the fundraising fair.

Filled with clues, puzzles, action, this book is recommended to anyone who likes adventure/ action in fiction. The characters also deal with their relationships with one another and come to realise that forgiveness and friendship go hand in hand.

Overall, a fun-filled book with deep twists and turns, enjoyable for any reader!

I could hardly put Molly’s New Treasure down, enough to go get a much needed snack. So riveting. I like the good lessons the children learn along the way. Lessons on working together, forgiving each other and trusting the King (who is a picture of God).

Mollys latest adventure is action packed from the tense opening scene, where she finds herself outrunning a bush fire. In fact, the book races along through a series of exciting rescues, and mysteries, as Molly and her friends go treasure hunting in a very unusual place, with some very puzzling clues, all organised by her father, the King.
As usual, Molly is a confident leader of her little gang as they face many exacting and dangerous hurdles in their search for treasure. She is both humble enough to apologise for mistakes she makes as their leader, and delights in the unique skills each of her friends brings to the puzzling treasure hunt. She is likable, recognisable, and accessible to any young readers, especially those who have followed her previous adventures in books 1 to 4 in this fabulous little series.
Once again, we reach a happy finale, where all problems are resolved and Molly and her friends have leant new things about themselves and have been blessed by their loving and benevolent King.
Molly’s New Treasure is an open and likeable read, but life truths always exist under its seemingly childlike surface that enrich it and make it a great book to both enjoy and ponder. Well done, Molly!

This book is about a quest for individual treasures undertaken by eleven-year-old Molly Greenwood and four of her closest friends. On the authority of the King, they journey to Parrot Island to seek the treasures, which will help disadvantaged farming children whose homes and farms were destroyed by a huge forest fire.

I enjoyed ‘Molly’s New Treasure’ greatly because of the realistic portrayal of the challenges the intrepid five youngsters faced. I loved the positive skills Molly and her friends brought to the task as part of Carmen’s detailed and well-constructed plot. Carmen sensitively depicted the positives and negatives of the children’s characters and had me on the edge of my chair as one particular life-threatening situation unfolded. Finally, Steve Allen’s accurate illustrations topped off a marvellous tale of adventure.

Who would I recommend this book to? Any young person old enough to follow the steps in the plot and thus be able to appreciate the point of view of Molly and her friends, and the need to succeed in the quest. Adults, too would enjoy reading ‘Molly’s New Treasure’, a book I’d personally award Five Stars. Well done, Carmen and Steve Allen!

Being a bit of an Enid Blyton fan, this was right up my street. The author, Carmen Allen, is a strong writer who’s created a wonderful female protagonist in the form of Molly, and a well-plotted adventure for kids to enjoy. In fact, there’s everything here: a mystery island, a little danger – but not too much – and a group of kids working together (or trying to), to solve riddle upon riddle in the hope of finding the prize!

So, what did I enjoy the most? Well, I liked Molly; she’s not perfect, but she’s a never-give-up sort of gal who always attempts to do the right thing. I loved the suspense too helped along by the ‘time running out’ plot. Oh, and I liked the diversity (personality-wise) of the young characters. They don’t always get along, but they battle through – which is a good message for young readers.

So, all you parents, grandparents and carers out there looking for a ‘safe’ adventure novel for a 9 – 12 year old, I’m happy to recommend this book to you. Helped along by the artwork of illustrator, Steven Allen, I suspect most children will enjoy the twisting plots, trying to work out the king’s riddles, and they’ll be rooting for Molly (and the rest of them) to get home safely. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable read.

That is the first book I read from that author and I loved it!!!! Such a heart-warming story with real characters, real friendship and exciting adventures.

The message of God´s love came clearly through and I enjoyed the twist and turns of the story. I will definitely get the other books as well.

While all the characters are great, I especially liked the king and what he represents. I’m looking forward to reading more books in the series.

Great little book, full of action packed adventures and beautiful themes. Thoroughly enjoyed reading about Molly and her friends. A treasure.
