Bees are an integral part of Earth's ecosystem, playing a role as one of nature's most influential pollinators. In My Bee Soliloquy, author Michael Del Brown brings readers a mesmerizing collection of poems that celebrate these wonderful creatures and show their contribution to the planet throughout history. One of the poems reminds readers how bees inspired humans in ancient times, as the ancient Egyptians used to draw bee paintings on papyrus. Another one marvels at the cells within honeycombs that take the perfect geometrical shape of a hexagon. There's much to learn about humility from bees, who work tirelessly in service of their queen, while hives demonstrate the power of the collective. Brown's verses also delve into the different stages of bees' lives.

My Bee Soliloquy is the perfect poetry collection for lovers of poetry and wildlife. Michael Del Brown displays his love for bees with this enthralling collection that sheds light on the prominent role of bees in nature as well as their influence in art, geometry, and archaeology. Through his poems, the author draws a few comparisons between bees and humans, including emphasizing that although bees can be fiercely territorial, they are not prejudiced based on gender, race, or ethnicity. Their preference for the collective comes out in full display when they create sounds in harmony, singing while they work. Brown's poetry also highlights the bees' sacrifice for the greater good as they die impregnating their queen. Readers who enjoy poetry about nature and wildlife will love this book.
