My Big Tow Book#2: The Adventures Of Captain Recovery by Kyle Chirgwin is an imaginative picture book for young children. Every day brings a new and exciting adventure for a young boy named Darren, also known as Captain Recovery. As always, Darren is eager to start his new adventure, but this time his sister Kaylee is joining him. While waiting for Kaylee, Darren makes his way over to the sandbox, lines up his trucks, and begins thinking of what jobs Captain Recovery will take on this time. Kaylee finally meets him at the sandbox and Darren's imagination runs wild. What big jobs will Captain Recovery have to do and will it be a job well done?
My Big Tow Book#2 was fun to read. The author's imagination knows no bounds when creating exciting adventures for his characters, which are also educational in some ways. I found that Chirgwin's story could teach children about many things such as what a tow truck driver does, and more importantly, how they can be safe on the road. Teaching children this at a young age will prepare them for when they are older. This book will be the perfect pastime or a bedtime story, and the illustrations by the talented Lynn Mohney and Joshua Otero will capture the young reader's attention on every page. If you have a child with a passion for trucks, then this book will be perfect for their next read. Congrats, Kyle Chirgwin, keep writing!
