My Name Is Davis by Mike Michalak is a rousing political thriller that delivers a great read thanks to its fast pacing and intense conflict. I loved how the author builds the dynamic between Kaye’s modest life in Iowa and a huge, shadowy network’s manipulation of the world. He is a refreshing protagonist, and his practical approach to the nation’s problems makes his sudden political ascension gripping to follow. The plot masterfully highlights the book’s core themes of global stability and deep-seated corruption, keeping readers on edge as the secret network’s true reach comes to light. It moves smoothly from a quiet town’s daily routine to Washington’s corridors of power, creating an expansive canvas for the characters’ high-stakes cat-and-mouse game. Readers who love a suspenseful tale about an everyday person’s struggle against crazy odds will really enjoy this novel.
