Howdy! My name is Lauren. I have earned the Next Generation Indie Book Awards Historical Fiction Finalist medal and a nomination for the Montaigne Medal. I love watching the History channel, the Science channel, etc. because I love to see what new finds the world of archaeology has come across in their digs and the new theories that emerge. The recent consolidation of King Tut's treasures sparked the idea for The Lost Pharaoh Chronicles series and led to countless hours of detailed research to write these books. I can't wait for you to experience the history I've put into this series and its prequel and complement collections.

Nefertiti's Legacy: A Lost Pharaoh Chronicles Complement by Lauren Lee Merewether was a great read for me and a wonderful adventure to Egypt of the era of pharaohs. In the tradition of Christian Jacq, Merewether comes across as not only a gifted storyteller, but an Egyptologist who brings the ancient world to life. A breathtaking conclusion to The Lost Pharaoh Chronicles saga, the story follows Princess Ankhesenamun who, after understanding the dangers associated with the intrigue in the palace, sets out on an adventure across a dangerous landscape to Canaan to find her sister. Perhaps she might be able to find true love too. But will she be able to overcome the ordeals in her path and reach her destination, and what about her duty as princess?

This is a deftly written story and Lauren Lee Merewether’s superb storytelling skills transport the reader to a unique time and culture in Egypt. Readers will appreciate the care the author gives to details and how she writes about the traditions of the pharaonic era. Ankhesenamun is a character that readers will adore, a young woman caught between her duty as a princess and the intrigue in Pharaoh’s courts. Her journey to her sister is fraught with dangers and the author does an impeccable job in exploring the different challenges she must face. Lauren Lee Merewether recreates an Egypt that is traversing treacherous moments, a hotbed of corruption, greed, and violence. The writing is gorgeous and littered with strong imagery, the characters are elaborately written, and the plot is suspenseful. Nefertiti's Legacy is an engaging tale that features stellar storytelling; one of the finest books I have read with a historical setting in Egypt.

The third and final book in The Lost Pharaoh Chronicles, Nefertiti’s Legacy is a historical fiction novel that shadows grieving Ankhesenamun as she tries to forget the past and move on. Thanks to her grandfather, who was also her husband, she has been given a second chance at life. As per her mother's request, she is devoting this second chance to searching for her long-lost sister, Nefe. In this quest, Sennedjem, the former Overseer of the Tutors, is also joining her. While Sennedjem is hopelessly in love with the former queen, Ankhesenamum is struggling with her emotions. As much as she loves Sennedjem, he is a major part of the same tragic past that she wishes to forget. Yet, the idea of him deserting her leaves her breathless. Amidst these tumultuous waves of contradicting emotions, she has a dreadful realization that she may never find her sister. Will she ever regain her sanity when her heart is in pain and her head is lost?

If anybody ever needs a good dose of intense emotions, Nefertiti's Legacy by Lauren Lee Merewether is the book for them. Merewether has infused each word of every chapter with pain, suffering, and longing. Page by page, Ankhesenamun's heart is cut open, and all of her tear-stained memories are poured out. With Ankhesenamun's bleeding heart, Merewether has painted a beautiful portrait of a grieving heart's desire to forget the past and a heart's reluctance at doing so. In Sennedjem, the audience will find a perfect knight in shining armor, who doesn't believe in seeing his heroine as a damsel in distress. Although he is always there to protect her, he encourages her to embrace her own inner warrior. Even though he wants nothing more than to hold Ankhesenamun and never let her go, he still respects her contradicting wishes with no objection. The author has an incredible ability to transport her audience to various historic sites. This talent makes her readers linger on every word.

Nefertiti's Legacy is another addition to The Lost Pharaoh Chronicles Complement Collection by Lauren Lee Merewether. After the murders of her mother, husband, and her daughters by the Fifth Prophet Pawah, Ankesenamun abandons her gods and obtains permission from her grandfather to shed her royal heritage and leave Egypt once and for all. Hoping to be reunited with her last surviving sister, Nefe, Ankesenamun seeks the help of Sennedjem -- a man with whom she was accused of committing adultery -- to aid her in her search for Nefe. As they travel through the city-state of Canaan, Ankesenamun and Sennedjem's feelings for each other grow stronger with each passing day. But Anekhsenamun continues to be plagued by doubts. Will she get her chance for a new beginning?

Fans of historical fiction are in for a treat, for Nefertiti's Legacy tells the story of an often forgotten part of ancient Egyptian royalty. Lauren Lee Merewether's tale of an empowered woman struggling to let go of her past and embrace her future is captivating and filled with grit, romance, and hope. Ankesenamun's inner monologues brilliantly convey the raging battle within her mind. She cares deeply for Sennedjem yet feels duty-bound to her former husband, Tut. Her relationship with Sennedjem propels the plot forward and feels like the driving force behind the narrative. The setting is authentic, and it instantly transports you to the dunes of ancient Egypt. Nefertiti's Legacy is an entertaining addition to The Lost Pharaoh Chronicles Complement Collection that I will highly recommend to readers who love historical fiction.

Pawah took everything from Ankhesenamun – her mother, husband, two daughters, everything! As customary, she should be passed to the next Pharaoh as a wife; she was doomed to a life of sadness in Malkata. Fortunately, her grandfather made a decision that gave her the freedom to search for and be with her sister, Nefe, in Canaan. She chose Sennedjem, a warrior, to accompany her as her protector. However, he was in love with her, a feeling that she couldn’t reciprocate because of an obstacle between them. From Egypt, through cities and countries, they went. Follow Sennedjem and Ankhesenamun on their journey in Nefertiti’s Legacy by Lauren Lee Merewether. Will their hearts find a way to each other? Will the duo ever find her sister, Nefe?

Nefertiti’s Legacy by Lauren Lee Merewether is part of A Lost Pharaoh Chronicles Complement Collection. I was impressed because the story gets better with each installment. This novel featured themes like loyalty, deception, honor, perseverance, valor, patience, and enduring love. It boasted a unique plot with depth that kept me locked in until the last page. The character development was superb. I knew Lauren did a fantastic job when the actors tugged at my emotions. I appreciated the glossary at the beginning of the book, which made the story easier to understand. There were also lots of lessons to pick from this book. Words are powerful and can determine the burdens we bear and the course of our lives if we let them. Also, when you feel like giving up, go one more step because help is near. Thank you, Lauren, for your beautiful writing style and flawless editing. Please write more!

Nefertiti's Legacy is the third and last novel in the Lost Pharaoh Chronicles Complement Collection by Lauren Lee Merewether. Ankhesenamun lost everything at the hands of Pawah. With no more tears left to cry and no gods to come to her rescue, Ankhesenamun had to be her own hero and save herself. So, she left everything behind in Egypt and decided to start afresh in Canaan. All Ankhesenamun needs to do is find her sister Nefe who previously left Egypt. However, finding Nefe in this huge territory was close to impossible even with Sennedjem as her companion. Was she setting herself up for failure by forsaking her gods and letting go of her royal duties? Was Ankhesenamun going to find the peace she so desperately needed? Or was she doomed to remain the Hereditary Princess?

As always, author Lauren Lee Merewether outdid herself with this new novel. I am a huge fan of her works, especially her Pharaoh series and all of its companion novels. This story follows the life of Ankhesenamun, a Hereditary Princess doomed to marry the next Pharaoh, even if she didn’t want to marry the man. Her quest to get out of Pawah’s clutches and search for a life of love was handled meticulously well. From the very beginning, the author set the tone and allowed the reader to get used to a bumpy ride with Ankhesenamun. The road to Canaan, the hurdles in their way, and even the quest of finding Nefe proved to be a little too much for Ankhesenamun at times, but she soldiered on. She was a fighter and a survivor. Ankhesenamun was finally free, and she embraced that freedom with everything that came with it. As always, the descriptions were out of this world, the imagery transported me inside the pages and made me live what Ankhesenamun was living. I could not have asked for a better conclusion to a fantastic series!
