Love is in the air when Julian Case meets Alegra Rossini at a wedding in Italy. He is mesmerized by the beautiful teacher. The two find common ground and interests that promise to lead to a possible future relationship, despite the long distance between them. And after the morbid death of his wife, Julian is ready to let go of the past and move on with his own life, perhaps find love again. But when Julian returns to New Jersey, he discovers his son nearly beaten to death after a night of partying and gambling. Now it’s a race against time to save his only son, who slips into a coma. With his twin daughters besides him, Julian is on a mission to find out what happened to his son, even if it means putting his own love life on hold for a bit. Will the beautiful Alegra understand Julian’s plight or will she put her trust in an old relationship with the father of her child? But as the investigation deepens, perhaps the would-be-killer will return to finish what he started, placing the family in imminent danger.
One More Dance, by author Valentine Cardinale, delves into a family’s misfortune as they try to come to grips with the unexpected attack on one of their own and rediscover the ties that bind. This vicious incident brings them closer together as they each aid in the police investigation and deal with the life and death situation of both a brother and son. But Julian is steadfast and strong, rallying his family around him, and Alegra's support is a balm in Julian’s life. Sometimes it takes an unexpected tragedy to force people to appreciate one another, despite past hurts and fears. It’s nice to see a family with imperfections for a change. A good read by a talented author.
