Family vacations are challenging, exciting, and full of new adventures. In Our Family Vacation, Kay B. shares many of the experiences that make up a typical family trip. The vacation for this family of four starts with an airplane flight. When they arrive at their destination, their days are filled with all sorts of activities. They visit city sites, beaches, parks, museums, and the zoo. They also make new friends and try new foods and activities. Then the planning begins for the next family journey. Where will they go? Included at the end of the story are several pages of games and activities to keep kids entertained.
Our Family Vacation by Kay B. is part of her VJ and AJ Adventures series. Depending on the family situation, vacations may be a frequent occurrence or something that only happens once every few years. Either way, Kay B. has written a book that grown-ups will want to read to their kids to prepare them for their next trip. I've seen many books that involve visiting specific destinations, but what is excellent about this tale is that it includes activities and places that cover all types of vacations. The illustrations by Adriana Cifuentes and Juan Sierra are clean and crisp. The family's feelings of joy and wonder are on perfect display as they enjoy the sights. This is a book parents will want to share before and during their vacation. Parents will also want to use the information to plan their next trip.
