P.S. God Loves You by Sophia A. Ritter is told through ten interconnected short stories, each following a different girl navigating a very real struggle at Kent Bridge High School. Zoe is a cheerleader who suffers a devastating injury and wrestles with her identity when she can no longer fly. Emma hides her intelligence to fit in, until staying silent causes someone to get hurt. Lily is terrified of moving to a new town and uses anger as a shield to keep people at arm's length. Hannah chases social media validation so desperately that she puts herself in physical danger. Maddie keeps everyone at a distance, Maya cheats on a test under pressure, and has to face the weight of her own guilt. Jessica judges a classmate harshly and discovers how wrong she was. Gabby becomes the target of a cruel rumor and must choose between revenge and grace. Allison is burning out trying to be perfect at everything. And Ellie, a quiet artist, wonders whether someone as ordinary as her could ever matter.
P.S. God Loves You by Sophia A. Ritter is every Christian teenage girl’s handbook, constantly reminding them of God’s love through every situation. Each chapter begins with a Bible verse and ends with a letter written from the girl's point of view, a reflection question, and a prayer, which turns each story into a mini devotional. The first chapter already had a huge lesson to teach me. It made me see Philippians 4:13 in a different light. God’s strength is not only to help us win, but to carry us during the days in which we lose. This book makes faith feel relevant to the everyday struggles of teenage life; there is something here for every kind of girl.
